Once the new shocks arrive and the rear has my camper and is set how I want it. Then we’ll have time to mess with it.
I think mid July for the bypasses to even show. And by then it’s getting ready for my big Sept trip.

Slight winch fairlead suggestion for those in the future, I'd stand it up straighter if you plan on winching alot. Any pull thats uphill will be putting the rope under a lot of heat from bending around the fairlead. Snapped my rope twice when the fairlead was pointed down like this, stood it up and the same now worn out rope (just shorter obviously) has been fine ever since.

Lots of it boils down to what rope you have and also the fairlead. I did a bumper a while back that had just as harsh of an angle with the same factor 55 thick fairlead and he uses it almost every time he goes out with zero issues. I personally try to avoid getting myself in a position where a winch is needed. Most times I use it to drag trees out of the road, though it has been used a solid few times for saving my ass.

Did a practice run on a spare front hub for 5/8 wheel studs. Had to drill out my wheels a touch. But it looks like it will work out just fine.

5 day vacation has started! Should have everything pretty well wrapped up by Sunday. Then we begin the tear down and coating parts/ prepping the truck for paint.

Good point, I have a lot of research and two bathrooms and a bedroom to do before I start buying and chopping anything. I know of a couple folks on here with hydro, one whose truck I’ve driven and it was the shit. I need to pick their brains, too. I’d be interested in working with you on it when the time comes.

You dont want to just place the ram anywhere, youll want to keep your steering geometry similar to stock if you dont want to make all new spindle tie rod pivots.
My first setup i had placed the ram 1.5 inches forward and the steering was a bit weird with stock spindles.
Ive since moved it back to 5/8inch forward and added lower control arm pivots and the truck drives so much better.

If i get LT itll place the tie rod back in line with stock.

A 2.5x10 ram was almost the perfect width to match the tacoma rack width, the clevis was a bit long and i decided to screw the heims into the ram and the clevis into the tie rod.
A 3.0x9 ram needed a1/2 inch spacers behind the clevis (screwed into the ram) and it was a good width.
Both rams have thier issues with mounting, the biggest issue was the diff mounts and oil pan and diff. Youll probably only end up using 2 of the 4 suppplied mounts.

It would do it though! No rubbing anywhere at full bump lock to lock. Actually kinda crazy considering it is on 37’s.

Did that to my hubs last year! So far so good, I just made sure to use oem hubs not dorman…no idea if there’s much of a quality difference honestly but figured better safe than sorry, now I just gotta do it to the spare set I’ve got and put bearings on them.

Didn’t think about those changes in relation to the spindle, that makes sense. Do you have a write up or pics I can reference in the future?
