Thanks, this makes perfect sense. I'm going to do this after the holiday weekend.

Anyone else shear off the lower power steering ear / tab on the timing cover when removing / installing a new pump? I had to replace my pump today and I somehow managed to shear the ear right of the timing cover. Curious if anyone fabricated a bracket of some sort to fix this issue without replacing the entire timing cover? I tried searching a bit but nothing came up. Any input or pictures of what you came up with would be greatly appreciated!

Sure did. I fabbed up a little L bracket with a gusset that bolted to one of the engine mount bolts and went to the hole on the pump that wasn’t being used. JB welded the broken off piece just so it located the pump properly

Right on. Any chance you have a couple photos and / or a quick sketch of what you did that you could share?

I know I took them at one point but can’t seem to find them. And of course it’s a hard spot to take a picture of unfortunately.

Just did the search. Only comes up with pics of it broken. The repair post only says what he did with no pics.

Yeah I always forget how to do that as well. Lol
But I just got home and this is the best I can get without popping the hood which is a pain they way I have the truck parked.

Weird little L bracket off the non used hole on the pump. And to the left behind the shadows and the shock tower, it goes to one of the engine mount bolts.

Like I said, I used the one hood hole, and JB welded broken one to locate the pump where it needed to be. Then built this once it was all bolted right in place

Finally found some beadlocks and swampers. Swampers were blems so it was in the budget to get five and five beadlocks. Gotta keep up the overland cred and have a matching spare of course. Anxious to see how much different all the weight will be with steering and gearing

Can you use the tuner to get rid of evap codes? I think I want to ditch the canister since we don’t need it here, but when I disconnect it I’m pretty sure I lose atrac and maybe a traction control related thing. Not sure. If that’s the case, just turning the light off won’t help, but if it fools the computer then I’d be good.
