OK, thanks again. I've never taken the steering wheel off yet, I suppose that is documented around here somewhere....

It really is easy to just move it at the steering rack. Unbolt, move it however many splines and rebolt it. You can do it all through the drivers wheel well and don't even need to jack the truck up.

Sweet, complete with pictures. Thanks. Don't know why I missed this when doing a search.

Next question to those of you on the thread who have converted to the JD power steering pump upgrade: Anyone have the original steering rack lines in good condition they will sell and ship to AZ? My main pressure line from the pump appears to be leaking, either at the crimped fitting at the pump, or through the line itself. That hose is wet compared to all the other hoses on the truck and can only think that it is the line itself. Not sure if the high pressure line is available separately, It looks like there is one set of lines, they are sold by the pair to/from the steering rack. If anyone has those lines, taken off and in good condition cause you swapped to the super nice JD setup, let me know. I don't know what size box they will fit in, but I'd be willing to pay shipping and reasonable cost for them. The dealer sells them for what I consider an unreasonable cost. For what it's worth, I'd probably buy the suction line to the pump and the reservoir if you had all that sitting from your conversion. thanks in advance

Well that’s a bummer because I had my high pressure line sitting for awhile and no one needed it so I ended up throwing it away. NAPA sells each line individually for a reasonable cost if you end up buying new.

What do you (or should someone expect to pay) to install the lower arm pivot kit on a nice and straight frame?

My neighbors are getting pretty sick of the constant grinding and my truck on jackstands so I’m not sure I want to install this myself. That and I am so sick of cutting off brackets.

Hot damn. My neighbors can deal with some extra noise in that case. That’s 10+ hours of labor too. Wasn’t expecting that much.

I believe the estimated install time is around 16 hours if you’re fast. Can multiply that by a shop rate to get an estimate. I’d expect it to cost $1500ish + even for a garage fabricator on the cheap end. It’s a decent amount of work.

Thanks to all that have responded. I've already heard from a few members in private messages, and working with one to ship the parts I need. So I think I have it covered, thanks to all. TW is great for this kind of thing! If it falls through, I will reach out to you.

Thanks for the tip on Napa.

OK, I'll reach out if needed, thanks

For me it’s more like ahead of expected time until the last 10% or so then it’s expected time x1000. :frusty:

After reading the instructions I wouldn’t have expected that. Good to know though. I think that’s going to have to wait until I have a garage.

Anyone in South CA with the lower pivots and early aluminum skid plate wanna swap to steel? I don't crawl so I don't need the extra strength. Mines off the truck atm, so lemme know!

    Just gussets... everywhere
Truck got some front end damage after a collision 2 months ago. Core support and inner fenders are destroyed. Just ordered a set of JD inner fenders on insurances dime. Stoked to rebuild it stronger.
