From a business standpoint, I don’t believe JD is going to put the time into making things work for the slide rack in a 3rd gen. They know it can be better, and they are likely going to put their time into that. While making it work for the 3rd gen. We all know that OE rack sucks no matter what you do.

    From my standpoint
The difference in 2nd gen and 3rd gen Tacoma rack is so minute
That it’s likely an easy adaptation
Same as using the tundra rack on the same

Has anyone else run into the coilovers not fitting? Also, the bolt hole is too small for the factory bolt.

Can you give us a zoomed out pic?
Kinda looks like it’s sitting in the sway bar mount

It's been a few years since I trashed my sway bar, but I thought it mounts on the spindle.

    Dang
    Sound a bit grumpy

Quite a few manufacturers offer LT or MT kits with sway bar on the lower…

Are those shocks set up for that exact kit?
Did you try fitting it into the tabs without misalignments on it?

maybe need different rod ends or misalignments

doubt it’s an issue with the arm

You need different reducers (misalignment spacers). The mounting width and bolt diameter on OE replacement shocks aren’t the same as LT kits. You’ll need reducers with 1.25” width and .5” bolt size.

    That makes sense
Is that going to affect his rod end also?

No, the eyelet length will just change his shock lengths, which aren’t as relevant being he is already limited by the shock he’s using.

Also, the sway bar mounts to the spindle on Tacomas.
