Total Chaos mid-travel front. JD Fab SUA rear.
I had 4.5bs wheels and needed to run a 1.25” spacer to clear the rear shocks. Changed my wheels to a -10 and still needed that spacer. Bottom line, you’re gonna need to run a spacer or a wider axle.

Looking for a 4.5 BS wheel and I'm starting to question my sanity.

The Method 703s are listed as 17x9 -12 but they list the backspacing as 4.8. Isn't a 9 inch wheel with a -12 offset 4.53? Do they have a larger lip?

I know it's been awhile, but I'm not quite sure when exactly it happened, I don't recall hearing much of a noise, I just noticed I was being limited turning to the left, at the time I figured it was just from the steering rack binding on the coils, but then I took a look. Hours after I posted that picture JDfab called me and sent me out a new joint. Can't really say enough about their customer service. I got the new joint in and have been fine since. I did see something quite interesting on Instagram this morning though... looks like these would be a nice upgrade.

We basically built a MUCH stronger version of the EMF. It uses an HD WSS 1” Uniball inside of a completely custom, machined housing with a sealed top cap.

Just curious but could those joints be adapted to most any 1inch uniball cup or do they need special cups?

No, the cups are custom machined to accept the Uniball/custom cap. The cap is sandwiched between the Uniball and cup so it’s impossible for it to fail, even if you blew the uniball apart it can’t physically go anywhere.

Cool story. 3 weekends ago I developed a nasty clunk about 40 miles out. Nothing jumped out at me. Until I got it in the shop and started looking.

My left lower EMF cap was turning while steering the truck. It was about 3 turns out from snug.

I know for a FACT I tightened the lock screws at the last adjustment. Yet somehow that cap came loose and damn near blew out.

I’m sooooo over these EMF’s at this point. Weekly adjustments and one close to a total failure. I grease religiously with high end grease, I wipe the dirt and grime off of the ball every time I grease them, yet they just don’t hold up.

Happy to see an improvement coming out.

Hopefully, we can buy kits without the top cap for us current style kit guys.

We are currently having standard Uniball conversions machined that will drop right in all existing kits and will be sending them out to every customer that isn’t happy with their EMF’s. The new JD joint will only work on new kits moving forward

it’s great to see them work through problems that arise and then go out of their way to see that customers are taken care of.

We are really bummed that EMF has been having issues lately, the early EMF’s are great and have had zero issues. Regardless we sold the kit so we will fix the problem… definitely not going to be cheap but taking care of our customers first is more important than any financial statement.

Also please do not message me on here about getting the warranty conversion parts, when they are ready (very soon) we will be individually contacting everyone that purchased a kit so we can verify their order and address for shipping… it’s just impossible to track everything through my messages here, thanks for understanding guys!

Will this also apply to folks who purchased a JD kit from a different vendor? Or does anything need to be done in that case? I bought mine during a group buy a while back but ordered my shocks thru JD

This is good news for someone who purchased their kit from some shady guy on eBay :anonymous:

Love my JD fab parts. Between the frame brace, lower pivots, and SUA kit, it’s a game changer for these trucks. If these joints will mean we can push our trucks harder with less worry about breakages, I’m game. :mudding:
