I can't leave anything well enough alone
nope, not gonna get 2" at the axle with a 2" longer shackle. Technically I think the axle isn't in the center of the leaf exactly, so it isn't 50% just on the motion ratio alone. But in addition, the different length shackle will make a different angle, and that will change the effective spring rate a little also, one way or another. You will get lift, but how much exactly is hard to calculate. You should measure accurately before/after with other variables isolated. I'm guessing you will lift a tiny more than 1" if you don't change the frame mount location of the shackle pivot. But, I don't know what I'm really talking about, it is only theory, I've not been down this road with experience myself.

What's the preferred cutting tool for the composite besides?

This is my favourite, but anything will cut it. Just make sure you wear a dust mask.

I have one of those, but not all fancy like that one. It's just a cheesy corded Harbor Freight $20 special, but it'll get the job done non the less (hopefully without splintering everything up)

smashed this, broke that, covered it up with tape and paint
    Use tape where you cut
That will assist with your splinters

As well as long sleeves, gloves, etc. Also helps to have a vacuum going as you’re cutting. These beds have fiberglass in them and can make you itchy as hell if you’re not careful.

I'll just use shop air and blow all the crap into my work buddies stall next to me, and let him deal with it instead of using a shopvac

JD's battery box featured on my very naked lookin' truck on their IG story today. Really sweet relocation. I'm pumped!

    Yes
The bed is an epoxy composite but for these purposes really no different than thinking about it as fiberglass…just a different resin. Epoxy and poly absolutely kill blades so it is smart to use carbide blades in whatever tool you are going to use. They make both carbide and diamond blades for vibrating multi tools.

Regardless of what tool you use to cut remember that you can just use some sand paper on a block to clean up your cuts. Flat or satin black paint on the cut edges matches really well too.

It doesn't look like it's on their website yet -- unsure if it's something they plan to offer at scale. They're doing a bunch of work for me (front, rear, steering pump, inner fenders0 and I asked if they could get the battery off the fender and over the rear axle for me and voila, magicians worked their magic as always.

Stolen from their Instagram story today. I don't pick up the truck for a couple of weeks but it looks fantastic. It's on the drivers side because my ARB Twin is on the passenger side. That's an extra >100 pounds right over the rear axle which I'm really pleased about.

Guy in video said his suspension works better with battery moved out of the engine bay

    sounds like a great idea

-more room in engine bay for other lighter things
    -still accessible
-less exposed to heat and cold
-cracking sheet metal in fenders and engine bay reduced or eliminated
    -won’t take up backseat space
-will make use of bed cubby storage that otherwise generally isn’t used
-potential to offset gas tank lean if placed on passenger side
-no need for drilling hole in cab floor to route gases vent on lead acid battery
