Moving them back should lift, standing the shackle more upright

I know there was discussion about 7-9” shackle. For me it gained 3/4” of ride height.

How would stretching the leaf packs out make it lift? Extending the eyelet to eyelet dimension won't make it taller. Bringing them closer together would put more arch in the spring, increasing ride height.

Don't think of it as stretching the leaf pack, imagine the leafs as static, unwavering, unmoving. Sliding the mounts forward lowers the angle of the shackle, dropping ride height. Sliding it back moves the shackle towards vertical, lifting the rear.

I went through this when I did a shackle flip on Betty. All the way forward wasn't low enough so I drilled some new holes to move the mounts even more forward, lowering the ride height enough and getting the shackle angle I desired.

has anyone moved the JD shackle hangers forward or back to see what ride height differences are achieved?

Im probably go the route of moving the hangers forward to achieve a lower ride height. But I won't make any decisions until after I get a few weekends in to get a base feel. I emailed Dave about shackle angles and what I have now is what they actually recommend. Moving the hangers forward will also relaxe the shackle angles to. And it won't be hard to relocate new bolt holes either if need be.

Just in case anyone is looking for a torque converter lockout switch, cruiser brother's has the Wholesale Automatics genII lockup kit on sale for 10% off. It's not something that Harry currently carries but on one of my visits we were talking about TC upgrades and keeping the trans cool. This will allow line lockup on demand rather than adjusting shift points/psi on programmers like HPTuner which are not on the fly unless you have a laptop open and connected to the port. Also you may want to upgrade certain things like the TC to a "heavy duty" model, I had mine rebuilt with Tundra internals (not sure they're more stout since I didn't open it but supposedly heavy duty) and installed a Ratiotek upshift kit at the same time. That opens the ports on the valvebody and updates the internal springs.. back to your regular programming of JD fab.

I adjusted mine and was not able to measure the difference. Maybe a1/4”. I have heard others say they achieved 1/2”

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on the JD 2.25 kit w/ 934s, but have a couple questions, as I probably have one of the heaviest setups on this thread with 2800 lbs on the front tires and 4500 on the rear (full wet weight minus occupants)

    so my list of questions:
    1) earlier on I believe there were talks of OE style bushings as an option, were those eliminated once the inner pivots got sealed up?
    2) the new JD joint - that is for the lower only? upper is still an EMF joint?
    3) I'm assuming with my weight I'm looking at 650 or 700 x16" coils. Any feedback from other heavier rigs?
    4) Is Cerakoting the Fox coilovers an option? Assuming lead times aren't as long as they were during covid, I can be patient for more corrosion protection.

    Thanks everyone

Get in touch with wheeleveryweekend for your shocks, you can order through him, and he can pull them apart, cerakote them, and then tune them when reassembling for your heavier truck

Just get em through JD also. Then no issues with Fitment etc.
