someone had said they had to drill one of the pump mounting holes but not sure if thats applicable for 2nd or 3rd gen specific.

 

That was @Naveronski . But from what I remember it was just they had forgot to do a few.

Well, I ran into the same problem as you haha. So don’t feel so unlucky. Just going to stop by JD on my way home to let them take care of it.

 

Oh wow, that’s pretty frustrating then.

Unfortunate to see JD Fab is putting out kits with no QC.

 

Easy fix. Yes, it should not be happening but it did. Not to mad about it. My pump arrived the same day that I picked it up. So didn’t sit long at the shop.

 

the pump is a Howe product

 

Can someone tell me what I need to check before install on the pump? Doing mine shortly at a buddies shop and can’t clog the lift for days

 

The brackets are made at JD, the rest is outsourced from Howe/etc. Basically you pay for them to package it all with the correct pulley, belts and hoses and the custom brackets.

 

JD drills out the mount holes for us on our trucks - or is supposed to, per the conversation I had about mine.

Picked up a pump I see

 

Yup got a new oem rack here and the JD bushings and the Howe kit. Doing a whole front end refresh so figured now was the time with everything apart and max amount of room.

Waiting on my new daily to show up so I can tear into the truck and keep miles off of it going forward. Making some lovely noises anymore so the only reasonable fix is just replace everything.

 

Anymore the loudest part of my truck are these M/Ts... I probably won't even know if my wheel bearing starts going out with how loud they are...

 

Best mod... fresh rack and Howe Upgrade.

 

New lowers, new uppers, Apex tie rods, new motor mounts, diff braces, double shear UCA kit, new shocks, new leaf pack (4th time's the charm? lol), new sliders, jd frame brace kit. Expensive rebuild this time around.

 

Anyone have any good photos of the Howe pump installed they can send me? How the bracket mounts etc. would appreciate it
