It has to do with the steering rack design. It can turn more one way then the other but just a bit.

    295s are more like a real 33x12.5 ish. Not a 34. 285s are more of a 32.5x11.

4.88s will be best with 285s/295s.

you shouldn't have to tub for 295s.

35s on a truck like yours is stupid. only trucks that see mostly trail time should have 35s IMO. Not a great choice for a DD truck.

295/75/16 "D" Load Hankook MT RT03's tend to be closer to a 34" IMO

    33.6" X 11.60"

most 35's measure less then 35" as well

Much bigger/heavier then my my BFG KMII 285's were.
I'd recommend 3.75" backspaced wheels for the 295's.

^ I used 6mm billet alloy spacers to avoid a new wheel purchase
Also had to lengthen the lug studs = not hard but still a pita

My suspension is between 2.5" - 2.75" of lift.
still rubs some at max compression (moderate trails)
as I haven't cut the inner fender(s), yet.

No serious rub for street duty and lite off road...
'cept the driver's side scuffs the frame a little at full steer lock.

4.88's are what I roll... manual trans.
that with the 5vze rolls 295's fine.

Still... a 285 was easier to fit...
and rubbed very little on difficult trail runs.

    Like these RT03 Hankooks...
but think I'll step back down to the 285's
    next tire purchase.

    If I ran 35's... I'd want 5.29's

Sorry for the dark pictures. Next time will budget more time than one day to tub and trim. Will have more pics tomorrow but I'm really happy with how it turned out.

Dude I had maybe 100 bucks into materials, the rest is time. The expensive part of running 35s is the tires themselves.

    2k? sheesh..

However, don't forget, 35s ARE an expensive endeavor. But not due to the tubing. Its the regearing and tires that cost a lot. And the temptation to throw in a front and rear locker(If you're elockerless). That can bring the bill of going to 35s up to 2-5k easy, depending on buying new parts/DIY.

You don't have to remove the dash lol Just cut slow and you'll be fine. You have to weld slow cause that shit is thin..

Yeah and keep a fire extinguisher close, caught the harness on the passenger side of my truck on fire. 2 grand seems high but for the time and labor involved that's prob about right. Tires, gears, and material I'm into to mine right at 2500 I think. The gears I paid someone to do but the tub I did my self with help from two buddies and still took ALL day with short breaks.

Took me two days to tub mostly by myself and my Dad helping when he could. I got my tires for a steal and i did my diffs myself and my locker which i also go used and for a steal.

So far for 35s/rear arb/5.29s It cost me right at 2kish. And i don't think you can get cheaper then that.

Tires where 800 bucks for all 5
    5.29s, 750 with GB
    rear locker was 450

    Labor...Freefidy...

So with like additional parts im probably around 2.3k id guesstimate??? Idk.

I would never ever ever EVER recomend people regear their diffs themselves unless they have a shop that has like EVERYTHING and a ton of time and a DD because your truck can be down a long ass time. Took 3 weeks for me after fighting stuff and having to order additional parts not included in the master install kits. Such a PITA.

I regeared a few years before my went to 35's. So my tires were 400 used and about 100 for some plate, seam sealer, and undercoating.
