Fitting an 2006 A.R.E. EC/DC shell to a 2007 Regular Cab

So I was able to get a good deal on a 2006 A.R.E. EC/DC Tacoma camper shell, which I plan to use for my regular cab 2007 Tacoma. However because the front of the shell is angled forward to fit an extended or double cab the front edge of the shell won't completely overhang the front rail of my bed. This causes it to leak a bit during heavy rain. I was wondering if any of y'all have experience or suggestions sealling a EC/DC shell to a regular cab Tacoma.

I bought the shell to move across the country. At the end of the day I can just wrap the stuff in the shell in a tarp to protect against the leaks, so this is really just for long term plans for sealing the shell for camping and such.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.
