Yeah your 21 will only have 4 sensors, if l am not mistaken 2008 or 2009 was the last year the Tacoma had a sensor in the spare.

I was playing around in tecstream last night and it looks like there are 5 spots for tire sensors but not sure how to set it.
Has anyone had success or is the 5th slot completely unusable? 2019 TRD OR

The list is long but distinguished
Do you have a 5th TPMS that you can register into Techstream? Also, do the Mode status, Main Tire, and/or 2nd Tire values need to be set differently?

Based on what I have heard, My guess is that the software has 5 slots but the truck only has 4.

I'd read the same thing in other threads from those who've tried. I think the 2nd gens had five slots, and the software is universal to all Toyotas, but the truck itself can only remember four at a time. Basically if you really wanted to do it right, after every tire rotation you would need to go in and reprogram the truck to learn the new wheel, and forget the one that moved to the spare.

Certain autel devices will allow you to do a 5 tire rotation with minimal hassle. I have the TS501 I believe, and it can read the sensors and program them in to the truck.

Basically the procedure would be this:
    1. Mount a 5th sensor in your spare
    2. When you reach 5k miles or whatever, do a 5 tire rotation and put the previous spare on the truck.
    3. Fire up the Autel, read the sensors at each tire in the order prompted.
    4. Plug Autel into OBDII port and do the re-learn procedure as laid out in the instructions. Only takes a few minutes.

I'm currently doing a 5 tire rotation, I know it doesn't really save any money but my 4runner has a sensor in the spare and it's full-time 4wd so I want to keep the tread depth on the spare close to the other tires.

Also I needed a new spare when I got tires because the one under there was 13 years old lol.

And that works without Techstream? That doesn't sound too bad, minus the upfront cost of the tool plus the TPMS sensor.

Does anyone know the part number of which sensor to buy for the OR snowflake rims?
