Recently had a fast signal light blink issue on my 2013 Tacoma. I bought it used with aftermarket headlights/taillights. I looked all over for information on how to fix it, most suggesting these aftermarket clip-on resistors. Not wanting to go that route, I took the taillight off and had a look...
Sorry that I didn't take more photos, but these will help. First off, the resistors are soldered onto a circuit board inside the compartment held in with four screws. This compartment is sealed so it may take some prying. Be patient. Note that this is post-repair and not all the pads were used. I'll explain later.

I used a desoldering tool, but you may just have access to desoldering braid, whatever works for you.
I went to Parts Express and ordered the replacement resistors. With shipping, about $15.
When I got them, I ran into a conundrum.
The resistors are meant to be stacked two-high. The leads weren't long enough. That's not a problem, as I said, the resistors are all in parallel. So I did this:

Then I fed the leads through and soldered them in:

    Resistors go back in:

Installed the taillight back in.. Everything works like a charm. No more maddening fast blink.
    I hope this helps someone.
