Get the angle at the rear axle flange, and at the CB and add that to your sketch.

Just like in that video posted earlier, once you have those numbers you'll have your answer. :)

So if I understand correctly he was/is lifted to high for the drive tran and the drive shaft was being extended and causing the vibration?

    Assuming he is to high

In his case and in by the looks of it, in your case also,
dropping the CB messes up the angle to the transfer case, he was going to use angled shims to rotate the angle of the rear axle.

I think I’m also having this issue, all of the symptoms are the same after installing a 2” ARB OME old man emu lift kit on my truck.

Going to try 3 degree shims on the rear axle and removing the spacers on the CB, hopefully that will fix the issue.

Does anyone know if these type of vibrations will cause damage to the differential or transmission if left unchecked short term?

Hello TW. Thank you all for your help. The vibrations are gone after following your advice.

    Remedy:
    • Installed 1/2 carrier bearing drop - still had vibrations
    • Installed 2.5 degree shims on the rear axle - VIBRATIONS GONE!
Hard to say if it would be good with just the shims and no CB drop, but I'm not messing with it anymore ;)

who did you get the shims from? mount between the axel flat plate and the bottom of the leaf spring - skinny side forward?

My mechanic brought them in, but they are ProComp 99-250B. Correct - they go under the leaf pack, thin end forward, to make angle A in my diagram above closer to matching angle B.

I just installed my suspension as well. HD Dakar OME installed, and I also start noticing a slight vibration when slowing down and/or speeding up. At first I thought it was something I did during the install, but I did get the alignment done at 4x4 specialty shop, and they did not a problem with the install once aligned.

^ I am also curious to know the same thing as to how much damage it can potentially cause if left unchecked.

Do you mind showing a picture of how the shim is installed. I haven't done any angle measurement, but sounds like the same issues I currently have.

3 different mechanics told me that a small amount of vibration will not be problematic. I think it's more a quality of driving thing.

This isn't my photo, but is exactly like mine is setup. 3* shims, on top of axle, underneath the leaf pack, with the thin end towards the front of the vehicle. https://twstatic.net/attachments/image-jpg.985429/

Solid. The vibration can get annoying after a bit, looks like I will be doing the same.

Agreed. It wasn't major but annoyed me enough to fix it.

The general consensus is 1* per inch of lift. However, the real way to tell is by measuring your driveline angles. Read through the previous posts to see how with a cheap inclinometer off Amazon. For me, the general rule was correct - 2.5* shim and CB drop fixed the vibrations after a 2" lift.
