Eh just in the Sacramento valley. No rust really but it's factory packs on a 96...
Sacramento. If any does have the old ones that would fit a first gen 96.. more than happy to take em off your hands. I'll take a drive and try not and kill myself doing it.

You're pretty close to a lot of other members, maybe 3 or so hours from me even.

I'd be happy to help, as well as a lot of others.

You can fix it once, or you could fix it twice. Do it once and replace both leaf packs. If you shop around you might find a replacement pack that is an upgrade over the stock one.

Put a WTB in the first gen marketplace section you’ll definitely get a response

I'd offer to help, but I'm broken. All I could do is watch and drink the beer.

which I'm able to actually hold a beer(sorta) now, so... progress!

I mean, I'm perfectly willing to stand there and drink while someone else helps... :D

I sheared my spring pack on the Rubicon and had to do a trail fix.

Was lucky that Marlin was there to help grind and weld the main spring back since we couldn't find any 89-95 main springs to donate. Built up a pack and even with the repaired spring I still sandwiched the pack with a spring on top.

I ended driving this home to Denver from California but it was on secondary roads with a buddy being careful like I was driving nukes or whatever.

Glad you’re going to fix it. If you can’t afford to fix a broken leaf pack you don’t deserve to drive that vehicle on the road. Absolute liability to every other motorist.

You can have Hammers leaf's, I picked them up on a Friday and unfortunately on Monday this happened :(. I count my blessings that I was only going 35 mph because this is my commuter truck and I'm regularly cruising 80mph. I was going to start a thread on my next steps for repairing this but I can offer up the rear leafs now. I'm in Pleasanton.

Personal experience: leafs are super easy to mess with. Just be sure to come back a few weeks after and re-torque the bolts.

Hey Dave! I'm really sorry to hear about this happening to you, but am glad to hear that no one was hurt and there's only minor damage to your front suspension. I'm sure you'll have your truck repaired soon and be back on the road. I'm glad to hear that you're going to pay it forward with my old leaf springs to someone else in need.
