I'm picking up an FJ case to swap into the Tacoma this weekend. For those who have done this and twin sticks, will I be able to grind down the shaft and run a single stick until my twins get here?

no you will have to keep the shafts stock till you are ready to twin stick them if you dont the stock FJ stick will not work and you will not have 4wd or any use of the tcase thats also why im leaving the stock stick in it dont feel like play with 2 sticks
and you might want to contact wyatt at RockSolidToys too cus you might need to run a ADD swicth for your front diff

RST used to have it but I can't find it on their site anymore. I didn't find it at trailgears either.

You'll have to run the case in stock form if you're keeping the single shifter. You have a set of twin sticks on the way? I'd wait till you have everything before putting the case in.

And yes, you'll have to wire in a new switch to activate the ADD.

Here's my writeup on twinsticking the FJ case.

Ok the FJ case is in! Question on the sensors, which go where? I left the in the factory switches from the FJ and left the ones that came in the tacoma on the ADD actuator.

I'm just a touch confused. Do you need a crawl box for this install or no?

Thanks. I thought I read you needed one for it to line up with the cup holder/coin tray deal.

There's a 2011 FJ case down here for $275 and it has 53k on it. Probably no offroad time since its in SD. Might have to go get it now.

I have an FJ case coming from RST. Wyatt explained to me that the sticks come out of the coin slot next to the shifter with no crawl box. They come out of the cup holder with the crawl box.

All the info on the swap:

Yep, the issue really happens if you have a 6 speed. In that case you have to swap out the smaller 22 spline input shaft that the auto uses to the larger 23 spline shaft of the manual. It's not to difficult, the worst part is the three little keys you need to keep in place.

Since i will be running twin sticks I'm going to have to chop the shifter shafts and relocate them to another location. I'm thinking about the smaller a cupholder in the center console
