Aye, made on of these just to get it a little more organized just cause the threads always popping.

So I know some of us are headed out Sat and some Sunday. So list what your doing

Ex. Heading out Sat and camping, Sat day trip, Sun daytrip and throw what times your tryn for.

We should set up a CB channel to stay tuned for too.

My plan is to leave Richmond around 7am and get to the Union Springs Trail around 9-9:30

It's supposed Sat will be fine as far as weather goes and we'll more hit rain Sunday.

It's supposed to rain pretty heavy Friday so get ready to sause up your tacos with some mud

Definitely we need to get a picture

If I go it will be on Saturday. Just a day trip for me with no camping. Damn I need to get some camping gear!

You wanna start the trail at the same time?

And even tho you said just a day trip, if you wanna borrow a tent and a sleeping mat I gotcha on that if you want. But no worries lol

Will find out tomorrow night for sure if I can make it. If I do I would prefer to meet up and hit the trail at the same time. I can work with whatever time as I dont have to travel far to get there. So for me I just need to know a time and place to meet up. I also think I would prefer to go bottom to top, and it will be Saturday and a day trip only.

    My plan:

Arriving in the area Sat. evening, hopefully reasonably early. Let's call it 5-6ish. Depends on how early I wrap up errands and shit Sat. morning.

I've never come up the Union Springs route so I might give that shot. I'll have the fiance and dog with me. Fiance was thinking it'd be just us getting away when I initially planned this so I'll probably make camp solo and aim for some solitude that evening. Sorry to be anti-social. I do want to at the very least meet up and say hello, check out your trucks and such.

I'll have to leave by Sunday late morning. Might be an opportunity for some exploring a bit Sunday morning?

So I'm thinking the best shot for me finding you guys would be if you have an idea of where you'll be making camp, I could drop in on you and say hello. Or maybe plan a time for a rendevous up at the clearing.

I have CB. Let's just say Channel 4?

    Channel 4 sounds great

    And totally understand being secluded.

So once you get to the open spot when you keep rolling up you have the choice to head straight of go to the right. What's to the right? Ive climbed to the top (staight) but yeah is that the lther way to get to it or?

    Also @JWROSE4 @GC8Steve @boogie3478

How long does it take you to get to get to Union Springs Rd, Dayton, VA 22821

Takes me 2hours and 30 if I 64 it and if I hit
33 takes 3 hours. I usally like to take the senic longer one heading up and 64 on the way back but if it comes up to time I can change that

So I think you're talking about where "Dunkel Hollow Rd.(227) " joins. If so, yes that's another way up. Enter down by the reservoir. Pretty easy way up. There is 1 or 2 water crossings at the bottom that have always been dry for me in the past. I imagine they'll have some water this weekend. Probably not going to be an issue.

You can come up Briery Branch Rd (924) as well. It's paved and would be awesome for a sports car. Kinda boring for the trucks. I usually hop over to reddish knob and check it out while I'm down there and cross that way. Took it down once when I needed to get home in a hurry.

I believe right is pretty much just a gravel road out. I have not been that way but have been told most cars can take it.

You guys tell me what time to be there and I will be there. I think there is a gas station right before you get there the union springs way. We could meet there. Is the whole stars thing this weekend? My wife seems to think its the 21.
