Mt Elden trail has been closed to vehicular traffic since last may when I arrived. But hugely popular hike and mountain bikes.
As said 89a should be a good drive for the views with fresh snow. As long as there isn’t any accidents.

Did 89 A. Was cool to see. My buddy visiting from Dallas liked it too. Quite different than anything they’ve got...

Any suggestions for stock-truck-accessible trails near Prescott? I found a video of some old fire roads and the senator highway through the hills which look fun but some of the others people have suggested to me are more for lifted jeeps.

Right now snow may be an issue. Tried using service roads/forest roads to go from mayer to south side of prescott and encountered a lot of snow. over a foot in some spots. I turned back when I saw no more tire tracks.

You can check out Poland road, there’s some decent driving through the woods a little bit.

There’s also an area you can park and check out an old railroad tunnel that’s been closed down. I’m not sure about the snow there right now though, this is near where @cartter469 found snow.

I took my wife on this route a while ago, you can go from hwy 69 through to senator highway.

I looked at that and another forest service road out of Mayer. Seems like good places to ride and shoot out there unless I am reading it wrong.

Moved from NAZ to Houston, quite a change sadly. I miss being over there so bad. Luckily my family still has a cabin over there in Parks so I can go visit and then I'll have to try some of these trails you guys recommend. If anyone has a lead on a job that can get me back to NAZ let me know lol

You can come take my job when I find a new one. But I wouldn’t recommend it

May I ask what you do? I'm not too happy at my job either, but living far from home (AZ) doesn't help.

I work for Pilkington North America. Auto glass wholesale and actually we are the factory glass for Toyota. Just a warehouse job with occasional deliveries throughout the northern AZ region. Worked for a college job the last few years but I graduated back in December and have been trying to find an engineering job since. Once I do I’m outa here and not looking back.

    Aloha all,
Going to be moving to NAZ hopefully this summer. TBH I can't wait, just found the national forest vehicle use maps. Holy crap so many places to go roam and camp! Here on the Big Island of Hawaii we are so limited with trails and dogs are not allowed anywhere!!

Plenty out here. I havent looked up dog leash laws. But with the amount of critters. I'd keep em on a leash. These elk will not hesitate on a dog.

Yeah for sure, we used to live up near Estes Park, CO, and are used to living with all of those creatures. Hawaii is not dog friendly at all so it's nice to see a lot of camping sites allow dogs too in AZ :)

Just trying to figure out where to live...

Anyone have any recommendations for a new '21 off-road owner heading to Sedona for a long weekend looking to get their feet wet with some off-roading. Truck will be fully stock.

Are you new to off roading or just new to the truck?

    Fab work updates.

@Atl-atl schedules and mine finally worked out to squeeze him in for his sliders install. Fit came out perfect snd hopefully he goes to put them to use.

My truck has been on jack stands for a few weeks now. New suspension geometry has been figured out, just waiting on a few bits to build shackles and finalize that. And the tundra axle is just about ready to roll under the truck and start fitting that into its new home.

I’m just gonna say New to both. I haven’t gone off-roading in 10 years, and it was NE power line trails in high school with some old Cherokees.

Schnebly hill is very scenic. It is not “difficult” however the road is filled with football size rocks sticking out of the ground so it is very rough.

There is some good desert style trails out off of forest road 525 just south of Sedona on hwy 89.

And if you build up your confidence you can check out Broken Arrow. In my opinion it isn’t difficult even for a stock rig, although you will drag your hitch probably. But it’s the most iconic and scenic trail in the area.

Schnebly Hill is definitely one to check out if you're new to the area, but it'll rattle your kidneys pretty good.
I like the road out to the Devil's Bridge trailhead, easy enough to do in 2wd but still plenty of fun. Only thing to watch out for on that road is that there's lots of hikers

Im from socal but I go quite often to flag to visit my daughter who is a student at NAU. I love flagstaff and i recently got into off roading and hoping to hit some trails up there soon. Hoping to meet some taco owners up in flag to do a trail run.
