Flagstaff/Northern AZ Thread

As a newbie… where does NAZ begin/end?

 

Pretty much anything north of Cordes Lakes to the border with UT.

Edit: Just to quantify as it's not a hard line across the state that is the "boundary" of NAZ. Payson = NAZ, Lake Havasu ≠ NAZ even though Lake Havasu is technically further north than Payson. YMMV though as some interpret the boundary differently.

 

Its as much about elevation as it is about latitude.

 

I've always thought it was generally accepted that anything North of the Mogollon Rim is NAZ. That generally lines up with @Atl-atl's map, above.

Tread lightly cinders cleanup is next Thursday from 9-1. I decided I need the day off and will be out there

 

I saw this and went looking on yelp, all the good restaurants(atria, shift, teatro, brix) had reservations open on saturday and sunday nights. Maybe dont try to go to the sizzler or some other dumb chain.

 

I am going to and staying at the West Overland Expo (from my place in Phx)… Would like to meet up with some NAZ people…I camp and hike NAZ monthly and want to get some camper/hiker contacts…

 

Holy crap, I17 heading north and south in the slow lane is a really crappy road, huge chunks of asphalt missing and massive holes everywhere. Glad I wasn’t driving my Mrs car with low profile tyres.

I can now officially stake my claim to rightfully be in this thread, RV is now in storage on Route 66. Looking forward to coming up to explore.

yea, this winter tore up the road pretty good

 

At least they are on a mission trying to fix it! But there’s definitely a few miles that should be closed until they do.

 

And the invasion of the roof top tents is beginning...

 

Yea seen it yesterday. People follow long google maps coming through the campus. Getting all lost since University is closed for the construction

 

It took me a minute to figure out why it looked like someone opened up a Sprinter Van dealership in the Planet Fitness Parking lot.

 

Route 66 storage $80 uncovered. Was going to do the new camp verde covered place but it still gets to 100 degrees.

I can’t wait to get up there but it might be a while, got some stuff to take care of before we can play.
