Flagstaff/Northern AZ Thread

I just returned from my first Flagstaff trip, thanks to twitch for the location suggestions. As stated above The slow lane on the Northbound I-17 is loaded with pot holes. Last Sunday I had a blowout north of Cordes Jct. Sounded like a shotgun and threw me into the left lane before I was able to get on to the shoulder and spend 2 hours changing the tire. I did P myself a little. My left side was about 3 inches from the white line. Very scary. Does anyone know where in Flag know where I can get a used 225/70/19.5 load range g tire for a spare?

 

Can try calling the few tire shops open tomorrow but it’ll only be Big O and Discount probably. Everything else closed for weekend and Holiday

 

There's a shop on 66, western tire and auto that has a good selection of used tires. It's right beside the crown railroad cafe between Steve's Blvd and fanning.

 

Thanks, I will call them on Tuesday. Discount will not even put air in my tires.

 

Yeah Discount has really changed over the years.

More than once ive gotten them to give me a take-off as a spare and thrown the guy a $20

I am serious, they will not air up my RV tires because the size ends with .5

 

The one on Milton? The one by my house up 89 on the east side did my old work truck tires and I've seen them with RVs. Before.

 

The ones in Phx/Snottsdale. Another point I noticed: I went to KOA and Harbor Freight while in Flag and the employees were super friendly, not something that is common in Snottsdale.

 

Anyone camping north of the rim (Az is sooo hot! Ha) in the near future? Looking to go North and relax in the woods…

 

Are you talking north of the Mogollon Rim or the North Rim of the GC?

Mogollon rim is pretty nice right now. It can get hot during heat waves but we've had some pretty nice weather so far this year.

Looks like this thread has rolled over and died... but if there is anyone else in Northern AZ that wants to kick back alive give me a shout here.

 

It’s a much slower thread than the general azbs thread. But most of us here are still active in both. Where are you located?

Yea that piece of road was terrible. I did exactly the same thing with a KO2 that was on a van I own. It's been totally repaved now.

 

Thanks lol. I’ve gone far far off the deep end on my truck. The wife’s 4runner is the sleeper though and super fun. My house backs up to the cinders so I’m easily convinced to come hang out there if you’re ever up this way.

 

Flag should be a ship show this weekend, I am going up on Thursday for 10 days or so but deep in the woods away from the city. Holidays are terrible.
