Good evening all, I’m looking into potentially getting flared out fenders for my 2015 Tacoma, but had some questions I’d like to get an answer for before doing so.

My first question is will I need to space out my wheels/tires? Will it look dumb if I don’t/will I have issues if I don’t?

My next question is if I do have space them out wider, what would you guys recommend to best get the job done?

    thanks in advance!

Like long travel fenders? Or bushwacker fender flares? Welcome to Tacomaworld btw!

The fenders themselves arent that expensive compared to the 10k+ long travel suspension that the trucks that run these fenders have.

I'm not saying you have to be a desert prerunner truck to have long travel fenders but you at least need to have a nice size tire in them. Like 35s. Of course what makes these trucks look so good with these fenders is the fact that the suspension has been pushed out 3 inches because of that expensive suspension.

I 100% support building your truck regardless of function or form if it's your toy, but making your truck look like those in the pictures even without the suspension aspect is going to going to cost alot and really hurt day to day drivability of a truck like ours.

I have the fenders in that image.

Without long travel you will need extreme offset wheels and/or spacers. My current setup is 16x8 -11mm with 1.25” spacers and my 315/75r16 tires line up with the edge of the fiberglass fenders.

    +1!

    Definitely need 35’s!

305/70r16 or roughly wide 33’s for reference:

It's a matter of personal preference of course, but having the tires not match or exceed the fender edge is going to look really weird.

Reading through your guys replies and posts, I’ve come to the realization that I’m looking to do a long travel setup. Would you guys suggest doing that on a daily driver? Why or why not? Obviously cost is a factor, but are things like MPG drastically affected? Does it cause unnecessary wear and tear? I’m curious as I’m new and wanting to get the most out of my truck, but also have an aggressive look and capable off road/daily driver with this Tacoma.

    Advanced Fiberglass Concepts.

Just don’t look too closely! Overall I’m fairly happy with them except for around both headlights and taillights. There are some gaps with not enough material so sanding to fit wasn’t an option.
