    Hi--my first post here.

I've got a bone stock 2003 Tacoma with 140k miles on it. Recently the brake warning light has flashed briefly under moderate braking. My assumption was that the fluid level in the master cylinder was low and it was sloshing away from the sender, momentarily illuminating the light to indicate fluid loss.

But the master is completely full.

The parking brake handle is totally released. So far as I know, those are the only two inputs to the warning light circuit. So what am I missing?

Thanks for any words of wisdom you can offer.....

the sensor for the fluid level. Play with it/ unplug it/ use a turkey baster to pull out some fluid.....anything to recreate the problem.

sometimes the e-brake needs tightened ever so slightly. If you push on the handle it should go out. Theres numerous posts about this being a problem

There's a switch on the e-brake mechanism, lighting up the light when it is on. So maybe your e-brake is a little bit out of adjustment, making the light come on

true. I forgot mine did the same. Hit the brakes hard and it pushes the lever forward a bit.

The spring at the Intermediate lever needs some lube once in awhile also .

That spring pulls the emergency brake cable just enough to keep the handle retracted all the way.

Another possible problem something else grounding back through that circuit
