If it rattles just rap the lite in tape where the bracket will be holding it to make it fit tighter

Didn't see this post till now but I also ordered my brackets on Amazon.com. Ordered the battery from there too. I got 2-C battery as I don't think I need the big quad-D one in my truck.

I also wondered about the rattle but figured I would wrap some electrical tape to tighten up the clips grip. I tried using my Maglite in the "flashlight holder" behind the rear seat in my DC and it rattled all day. Saw this mod on here and had to do it!

I checked Wal-Mart, Target, Lowes, Home Depot and Sams Club for the clips without success. I love Amazon and stuff ships quickly.

Should get my clips, battery and Access Roll-Up Tonneau on Wednesday. Looking forward to it!

In my 2003 Tacoma I had my Streamlight SL20 mounted so when I got off work I could just put it in the charger and charge it as I drove home. No fancy mod, I just had the car charger plugged in the outlet.

If any of you use your Maglite's a lot, I HIGHLY....NO STRONGLY recommend a Streamlight. As an officer, my life has often depended on having a charge, durable flashlight and I wouldn't carry anything else. Rechargeable and the battery lasts about 2 years....but of course I use mine every night.

I just got my 2009 Taco and will mount it. Probably try and do a cleaner mod on hiding the charger cord. When I get it done I will post pics. I will definitely buy the maglite holder for a more secure fit....thanks for the info!!

Forgot to add. Somebody else may have already, but wal mart has the mag light brackets. all this talk about them makes me want to pick some up on the way home.

Streamlights are very pimp, I agree.

But they don't pack the punch (to the head) that a 6d maglite does. It's 2 tools in one that won't cost $300 to replace. (my 2cents)

BTW- there is a flashlight mount thread from a couple of years ago on TN detailing how to mount a rechargeable light in a taco. I'd look it up for you, but they've perma-banned me.:)

OHHHHH I've split.... errrrrr I mean I've heard..... of guys splitting many a wig with the streamlight. Also dropped dozens of times. Had the same one for 14 years and only replaced the battery a couple of times. Maybe the bulb once or twice, not sure.

I'll try and look up the thread, b/c I'm definitely gonna do it.THANKS!!!

Streamlights are very solid lights. Expensive too!

In college, I found one in my back yard that a policeman dropped during a foot chase (that ended in my living room).

Anyway, I stored it away for a few years and broke it out a couple years ago. The battery was dead so I looked around for a new one but wasn't willing to drop $30 on it without knowing if the rest of the light worked. Anyway, I sold the light on eBay for $40.

Instead, I bought a 4-D Maglite that has not failed me since. It came with a small AA light that is great for small tasks.
