Thanks. Didn't realize the ultra stinger is that long.

Exactly, and lol, I had to watch the video on it to figure out how to work it. Infact I didn't even know you could dim it and slow down/speed up the strobe till I watched the video. So features are cool.
And the xl200 is what I have, is rated at 172 lumens, so its brighter then the 50 and 100 series. Which is nice too.

Is there a decent led flashlight that is non rechargeable with at least 120 lumens for under $40?

I have a 3D LED maglite, as well as a 3D classic bulb maglite....made sometime in the 80s is my guess, still going strong.....gonna do an LED retrofit on it soon.

also carry around a LED lenser TacTorch. its an awesome light.... especially for $50.00.
its really bright, and a good size.

I have been thinking about getting a surefire....a good one, any input on that from you guys?

A 14500 is the "lithium" equivalent AA, but li-po cells are a nominal 3.7 volts, vs, alkalines' 1.5, or ni-cad or ni-mhs' 1.2 volts. As far as output goes that depends on the light it self as "most" are regulated, meaning they don't just use what's available to them, for instance, I've got a few lights that run on a 16850 cell (3.7 volt) or two CR123 (6 volts) and the output is the same, runtimes vary, of course.

Since i haven't seen one posted yet. I have the Streamlight Strion LED. I love this thing. it is small enough to fit in a pocket but still super bright when you need it to be.

    specs from the site:
Rechargeable, ultra-compact and powerful, the Strion LED offers three variable intensity modes, strobe mode and the latest in power LED technology.
    • Multi-function, push-button tactical tail switch. One-handed operation of momentary, variable intensity: high, medium, low, or strobe modes.
    • Light Output and Run Times:
High – 10,000 candela (peak beam intensity), 160 lumens. Up to 2 continuous hours run time.
Medium – 5,000 candela (peak beam intensity), 80 lumens. Up to 4 continuous hours run time.
Low – 2,500 candela (peak beam intensity), 40 lumens. Up to 7.5 continuous hours run time.
Strobe – Up to 5.5 continuous hours run time.

    This one was posted earlier.

220 lumens. Multiple modes for $23. Its a great beater light. High output, strong design, but its just even though it says 220 lumens for 4 hrs, its more like at that mode you'll get 4 hrs of light, but its going to taper off in output after 20 min until you barely get any light out at the 3 hr 30 min mark. Its just the fact that you're using alkaline batteries which causes this. No enough milliamps and not a deep enough cycle.

This didn't stop me from owning 4 or so. haha. They're a great light to loan out, or use when you don't wanna risk loosing your better lights.

I don't know about the light posted, however, the few quality lights I have are regulated power systems. New batteries produce no brighter outputs than those that are all but dead, some of them will go into a pulseing mode to save what's left in the cells, but when the voltage gets below a certain point, they just won't power up any longer.

That's a thought :D Anyone know any others that are under $40 with at least 150 lumens that uses non rechargeable batteries? Smaller sized ones

You need to look at Fenix, or 4Sevens. Look a 4Sevens CR2 mini, total badass light (180lms) about the size of 2/3 a roll of Certs.

    http://www.4sevens.com/product_info.php?cPath=297_355&products_id=2197

Looks like it's been dropped, a shame. It's a great pocket rocket.
