It is a Surefire M15, they discontinued it, but you can sometimes find them on eBay, they are about $15, most expensive 0.05 lb piece of sheet metal, but it is from Surefire, so what do you expect.

Took about 15 mins to mount, and it is great

Anyone have one of these: http://www.maglite.com/aaa_led.asp ?

I most certainly do not NEED one.....see my above picture/post in this thread. But Christmas is coming..........and it would be cool to have a classic (sleeper) Maglite that puts out that much light.

I don't, but why not get one? Maglite has stepped up their game with the LED lights

I just may. I prefer Streamlight's offerings for overall performance, but Maglite is an extremely good value for what you get. Mag is still made in the USA as well. Streamlight's less expensive lights are made in China.

Looks like the 2AAA is around 16-20 bucks. Screaming deal.

I have an LED LENSER T7 (same as P7). Love it! 175 Lumens on 4 AAA batteries and it feels indestructible.

    ABS sucks.
Home made HID beam thrower. Started with a Cyclops (THOR-X) 55w Halogen. Converted to 35w HID. Increased the run time to almost 3 hours before the ballast gives up at around 8.5vdc left in the SLA battery. I needed to install a miniature LED volt meter to keep an eye on charging and discharging voltages. The telescopic H4 lamp allows me to switch between spot and flood mode. The output is ridiculous...

That's awesome! And last almost 3 hours?! Impressive! I would like to see more night shots, if you got em.

Not much of a writeup. Once I discovered that it uses an H4 bulb, the rest was easy. I had a leftover slim 35w ballast that fit nicely in the housing in front of the SLA battery. Picked up a 35w H4 telescopic HID burner with the correct adapting flange and it dropped right into the back of the reflector. I re-wired the switches so that the first powered up the ballast and gave power to the second switch that controls the flood/spot mode of the lamp. The LED volt meter is toggled by a switch and wired straight to the battery. I recharge when it's below 10vdc and stop charging at 14.7vdc. Also, it runs for 2 hours, not 3 as mentioned before. My bad.

I have a led lenser flashlight. Its really bright and uses 3 AAA in a round tube. The thing cost me around $70

I am also really happy that Maglite is stepping up to still be a big player in the flashlight market. I just checked their website and there is a lot of new products since the last time I went on there.

I really want this new light they made:
