I am suppose to pick up a very light boat trailer (no boat) that weighs like 200lb. It has a flat 4 pin connector. No trailer brakes.

I have pulled larger trailers with the large 6 pin connector using my 1 ton but never used a flat 4 pin connector. Never had a 4 pin on any vehicle. My 1 ton has a brake controller wire in for the trailer brakes.

I believe my 2022 Tacoma SR has a flat 4 pin connector on the bumper above the receiver hitch from the factory. I guess I am good to go as set up from the factory with the 4 pin just hook up the trailer to the ball and plug the 4 pin in. Just checking - I don't want to get 2 hours from home to get the little trailer and find out it was not ready to go.

Mine worked fine each time I have pulled haul trailers that engage the 4 pin.

Good to go on the truck side. Be prepared to troubleshoot, fix, or even install temporary lights on the trailer side.

If I was picking up an unknown towable 2 hours away, I'd have this kit in my back pocket, just in case.

Autozone sells the magnetic lights as well if you get there and the trailer lights are bad. I used a set to get a trailer back home over 1000 miles away. But it was pretty sketchy since they are only lights that are on all the time (no brake/turn light function).
