Hey I was wondering if AAL are effective once the factory leaf packs go flat and develop a reverse arch. I typically carry 100lb in the bed, but after a couple times of overloading the rear suspension by transporting a fuck ton of tiles and firewood it’s developed this issue. I know complete leaf packs are the way to go but it’s out of my budget and I don’t foresee overloading the bed like that again and know not to as well.

I know this doesn’t help you at all.
The best fix for that issue other than leaf packs is a Utility Trailer.
I can haul a lot more fire wood now.

Is that the case because of the “damage” already done? I can potentially get a pair of good used leaf packs with AAL or is this the case either way because the factory leaf packs suck?

The only useful thing the stock leaf packs do well is sit in the garbage. Anything done to the stock leafs will be temporary because the stockeafs are still the lowest common denominator.

If you plan to haul heavy I would add sumo springs. They really don’t come into play until you load. That you way for when you are unloaded you don’t have an overly stiff rear suspension. I use an aal and have on all my trucks. Lots of new take off springs on Craigslist. Add an aal to those to start and sumos and you have my favorite recipe. I had thought about a heavy leaf pack but my loads are too intermittent for the extra ride stiffness
