Flat towed a Wrangler 800 miles

She did great. Averaged 12.5 mpg and was always in control through all speeds. Most importantly, Nato the German Shepherd made it to Colorado.

 

I’m going to be doing the same thing with a Cherokee. Other then buying the tow bar hitch setup, is there anything else needed to attach to the vehicle being towed? Can you just mount the plates that come with the tow bar to the bumper of the towed vehicle ?

 

I attached magnetic blinker/brake lights to be legal and shockingly the best tow bar I could find was this one… I’m not a harbor freight guy but the reviews are often significantly better than any other one for 3x the price and it did an awesome job.

 

That is good news for Sport owners. It shows that the Sport can tow far without any tranny issues. Thanks for posting
