Flatbed,35’s and Mainly Parked For Repairs

Yup. With the blue sea ml-acr it's pretty simple. Still have to install mine but I just have to run a cable from the bed to the engine where I have the mlacr and run a switch and done. When driving both batteries will charge. When parked for long periods the solar should maintain everything. If winching, or cold starts I can combine both batteries.

 

Perfect! So jelly. One day I'll get goin on this. $$$ and time.

 

I thought the $$$$wasnt going to be too bad. This project has escalated. And I had the battery, solar panel, breakers, and charge controller. The second fuse box, and Moscow items add up. I even got the wire for free.

 

Ugh, see. That's why I'm still procrastinating the shit out of this project. Lol

 

Lol. Just have to start. I did a bunch of extras like the inverter, the switch panel in the tool box and I also have the iggy switch panel going in the truck to hold the battery switch, the USB from the second battery, and the dual battery monitor. Didn't have to go that route but I did. I am literally paying for it... lol. Do it once and never have to touch the thing again.

Exactly. I'm taking my time thinking of things I might change or that might present themselves during install or after. planning it out thoroughly.

 

Best way to do it. I think I have everything I need and hoping I won't have to do this again.

 

Never got around to posting pictures of everything finished.

Installed the relay for the dual batteries on the battery cage from pelfrey

Installed the iggycorp switch panel with the blue sea switch that controls the relay, the battery monitoring system, and a USB that is live all the time of the second battery. I have the monitor and the USB on a switch to turn them off so the light isn't shining all the time.

Also the battery in the bed is protected by my traction boards.

Also for a build update,

Ordered 5 scs f5's and 5 big ko2's in a 315x70x17. Shits about to get real

Also forgot to add these. When the truck is off the solar panel will charge both batteries

I also added some license plate led lights to the switch panel in the tool box. Wired them to the switch light switch.

whoaaa! that's going to be awesome! and you've already cut the rear end of your truck for the HC bumper so a little trimming and hammering should not scare you haha!

Not too worried about it. Just don't want to split the firewall when hammering and cause a leak.

lol. Ill most likely have to use a sealer regardless. Its pretty common to split it while hammering so little preventive sealing to ensure I don't have a puddle at my feet. Im hoping a 2-5lb sledge hammer should be sufficient. The neighbours are going to think I'm nuts on this one lol

wheels should be here this week, and tires could be here tomorrow. I still have to regear, which won't happen till the fall, but I may start on the fenders so I can avoid all that in the winter time. I will have to figure out how I am going to mount and run the compressor for the lockers. Lots to do all of a sudden.

 

damn regear too! pretty big project! with 35's will you be able to keep the spare at the stock place? if not make a box to cover this area and mount the compressor under the bed?
