    Hi gang,
Anybody know if this is a normal looking part of the exhaust? It's just behind a crossmember at about the front door of a double cab. And crossing from left to right along the crossmember. See pics. Clearly it's flat. Or been flattened. I have not been wompin with this, so I didn't do it. Can anyone confirm and check underneath a '16/'17 and see if it IS flattened at the factory or round and somebody munched this putting my tires on or something.
    What do you all think?
    Thanks.IMG_4323.jpgIMG_4322.jpgIMG_4321.jpg

I just greased my driveshaft yesterday on my 2nd gen and it has a flat spot too just like yours.. Maybe it's the way Toyota does it, atleast I am hoping..:anonymous:

It's flattened from the factory. Terrible design of running the exhaust piping.

    Thanks guys,...
My stereo/alarm installer was wondering. Now HE knows and next time he's under a '16/'17 he'll know all is well.

That's factory. I think Toyota flattens it otherwise the crossover exhaust would be the low point on the truck for ground clearance.

As it is if you measure the factory low ground point it's the front crossmember. Then measure ground to crossover exhaust, they're the same. If the crossover exhaust was round it would be lower than the front crossmember.

This 4Runner 4.7 is flattened like that, the '05 Tundra 4.7 was not but the crossover was tucked higher.
