Was taking the steps off the truck and noticed that my leafs look flat. Now in the pic the front end is elevated a few inches due to my driveway slope, so I understand that the rear suspension was loaded down a bit. Even with that in mind, I don't think I've seen leafs this loaded, even on my last Tacoma.

Time for an upgrade? If so, what's a good option to keep/improve payload capability?

Time to upgrade the leaf packs to dakars!

He already has the TSB pack because he has 4 leafs and 6 clips per pack. The non tsb pack had 3 leafs and 3 clips i think.

2wd seems to get new packs with just an extra clip.

    4WD

Not a recall, a TSB. Look at my previous post and if your pack looks like the red one on the 4wd one then you can go get two new leaf packs for free.

With either of the replacements, do they handle loads well? I periodically need to haul dirt, mulch, and lumber. Perhaps it's time for a flatbed purchase.

Might be worth it for the heavier pack. Going to see what my options are at Toyota, first. Don't expect it, but I'll at least ask if it's warrantable.

I am unsure. I would assume toyota had the brains to put the 6 clip packs with 4 leafs into the 3rd gens.

Toyota will probably tell you to pound sand because you have the updated packs already and they will just run you around in circles, but you could try .. At this point i think its all on you, you wont regret an upgrade of the leaf pack if you use your truck as a truck. I have a 50$ AAL in my TSb 4 leaf pack because i cant afford a dakar pack or something yet.
