It will come on, since the defrost runs the AC and compressor, but its not on much as it doesn't take alot to dry out the cold air anyway.

Now, there is the mod to turn the default AC on with defrost behavior. Haven't done it myself,,, too much warm vs. cold here so its not a big deal.

I'd also thought about changing the AC input line to a signal that was linked to the AC button itself instead of the AC clutch. I looked into the electrical diagram, but since the AC control panel is linked into the AC amplifier, it wasn't clear to me what to tap into, so I just put it on the back burner

If it does then my back up plan is to do that defrost mod by the glove box.

    Hi Zombietaco...
I did this mod on my 04 DC prerruner v6 a year ago. Getting rid of the mech fan parasitic drag and the clutch weight really make a difference. NO HP gains.
Acceleration response... YES, engine will revv up faster, it will get you closer to the power band quicker from stop or any speeds, highway or street.
I highly recommend to install a temp fan controller (pulse width modulated) over the relay type.
    I'm using the AUTO COOL 50...from www.autocoolguy.com

I have the dual flex a lite fans and they are loud as hell, don't know what this 'quieter' nonsense is about. They also don't work very well keeping cool in 4lo offroading conditions. I suspect they are more for street applications, going back to the stock fan clutch is on my to do list
