    There's no weight on those springs. Of course they won't flex and will feel stiff.

    This is true. I'm not going to add much weight to the front end though. Just a tube bumper for a receiver mounted winch. Plus a minimal engine cage and that should be it.

    The front is to tall for my tastes anyway. Needs less lift and more width. Aiming for a ride height more like the rear end.

    Gotcha. Yeah, you'll add a bit of weight with the things you listed for the front end but not much. Looks like pulling a leaf or two would help, or just get different springs like you said. I loved the Alcan's I had on my '85 with a flatbed. Got the springs after I knew what I was dealing with for weight and had them built for what I needed. Ride and flex was outstanding.
