That looks like Orange County Fire to me! Margarite Pkwy in the background?

once I was driving an ambulance up 405 in the rain. Someone came on the freeway, merged, lost it, did a 360, traveling from the #4 to the #2 lane (continuing with is forward momentum). He actually touched his front bumper to some other idiot doing about 65 in the rain who hit his brakes and was hydroplaning... then he kept spinning. Both were able to pull to the side, and we pulled in behind.

Yes, both cars had front end damage while traveling in the same direction on a freeway. Freak accident.

So, um, slow down. Glad you're OK.

Glad your OK, As much as I hate seeing these threads, it is very comforting to know most people only walk away sore!

Someone went to church yesterday morning. :D

Sure glad the damage was limited to steel and not flesh.

Prayers for you Papa...hope you have zero long term physical or mental issues.

btw...don't forget to post up pics of the replacement.

    Glad to hear you're okay.

Now your mission is to strip as many parts off the truck as possible before it gets scrapped.

Thanks everyone. I just got back from the Dr. and got xrays and CT Scan. Will follow up tomorrow. They towed it so I need to go down and try to salvage some things but I'm going to keep everything as I plan on buying a Tacoma again. I really have faith in this vehicle's safety in crashes now.

    Thanks all

under certain circumstances driver training will help, but a sudden loss of control (meaning your not in control) no amount of driver training will help in that situation...every driver has different reaction times to prevent this whether it be over steering to correct a slide/spin etc.......i live where there is snow/ice/black ice/ and my rear end break loose all the time and traction control kicks in everytime, how ever i think in this circumstance the driver spun out in rain/slippery conditions now that being said when you get sideways and your done "hydroplaning" you have no control of your truck flipping, had the truck been in a straight line after hydroplaning he shouldn't have flipped. but in OP case he was already spinning when he hit the embankment and flipped..... no amount of driver training is going to stop that........IMO totally out of his hands and thankfully he did not get hurt or hurt anyone else.

Yeah, steering wheel input was gone, I was countersteering to no avail. Once I was sliding sideways and started tipping, I just covered my head with both arms and the only thing that saved me was the seatbelt. I saw the ground comeing at the windows, the cab hiting the ground was really loud like thunder.. BOOM BOOM, and glass shattering and flying everywhere. I was really scared, nothing you can do but pray that I stopped rolling. My second thought when I stopped was I hope I'm not in the middle of the highway and no one runs into me. Fortunately I was on the shoulder.
