So I live on Oahu and we just had a pretty bad flood but Kauai was devastated. Here's a pic from staradvertiser, sad day for a tacoma...

That is sad, but the Tacoma is still on her feet waiting for someone to slap her in 4x4 and get going.

This is sad. I went to Kauai 2 years ago and it's beautiful.
I'm going to Oahu in 1 week.
Where did it flood on Oahu?

Just spoke with a counterpart of mine on Kauai. Seemed like historic flooding and damage. There's people isolated out Haena side.

I'd be happy if that Tacoma just drove right on out.

    Terrible.
Isn't the upside down vehicle a Tacoma as well?
Those look like factory 5 star 1st gen rims.

Hawaii Kai area of Oahu got some flooding. North side of Kauai is the nicest place ever. So sad to see it hammered.

I believe you are correct, that is a upside down toyota. Those rims for sure..

Wow! thoughts to all of our friends in hawaii! I was on the big island in february when a historic storm came thru. We were in Costco and it got hit by lightning twice. I think the north side of the island caught 4 inches of rain in ONE hour! What's going on this season?

I'm on the Big Island and we've definitely been breaking records for rainfall. I'm on the rainy side and typically rain isn't a big deal for me, but this year has just been depressing. It's been about two months of rain, a lot of it heavy. While Kauai had it the worst, even the Big Island had road closures, landslides, and fallen trees over the weekend.

North side of Kauai got 27 inches in a 24 hour period. I can't even imagine that. My place on Oahu got 13" in 24 hours from the previous storm and that was nuts.

    Man, that sucks.

First and foremost, my thoughts are with those in Kauai, Oahu and anywhere else in Hawaii affected by the flooding. I hope it's just property damage and things that can be replaced.

That being said, and of far less importance is the fact that my wife and I are going to be there in two weeks for our anniversary. I've been to Oahu & Maui and both were amazing. I've never been to Kauai though and we were really looking forward to seeing the beauty we've heard so much about. I was reading some posts about some storms this past winter that took out much of the beach along the southern side of Kauai and I was pretty bummed about not being able to see that small percentage of the island. Now, with the pictures I'm seeing, I'm even more bummed in a selfish way about my experience on Kauai when I've heard so much about it. Obviously my disappointment pales in comparison with those directly affected by this.

Sending good thoughts your way #50. :(

    The whole town was underwater.

Ostrichsak any chance you can make flight changes and visit a different island? Maybe it's fate and she has some wonderful experience in store for you on Kauai?
