I want to meet the Toyota engineer that came up with this and ask him how he came to the conclusion this was a good idea?

Thats classic, I would love to see some self absorbed prick and his Lexus' reaction to the zip tied floormat. My 3 year old could have engineered a better solution, well at least less redneck looking.

I will hang onto my death mats

Funny that in just about every car I've ever owned the mats aren't fixed down - they always move around. I buy a Taco that has clips to fix them down - and there's an issue with them!

PS re the Toyota employees gag up there ^^^ - I thought that Toyota treat their emps really badly?

Too late, I'm on FTE, but won't be posting this--too much Toyota bashing over there anyway. (I always ask the a-holes talking about Pearl Harbor where they were stationed during the war. So far, no vets, just rednecks that inherited their bigotry from their 4F uncles)

It's just a temporary fix. Since they're gonna bore two holes in it for the cable tie you know we're getting a new redesigned floor mat.
