The husky’s are more pliable than the WT I’ve owned both and would get the husky again

Went to order the Husky X-Act Fit last night and they only had black. Seems like they had other colors the other day. Black will not work for me. Have they ever offered these mats in another color?

Gray would be my preference, but brown would work. Black is a no no. Sent them a message yesterday, but it doesn’t look like I’m going to get a response.

So I just bought the Weatherbeaters as they were on sale. Got them and they are too close to plastic, like Rubbermaid or Tupperware.

Are the X-Act Fit more like a rubber mat?

I just ordered the X-Act Contour mats for the front but haven't received them yet. If they are anything like the X-Act Contours that I already have for the rear of my DC, then yes, it is a very rubberized mat that is pretty heavy.

Just looked at the box, it shipped with a weight of 6.1 pounds for the 2 front mats.

I removed my Weather techs and replaced them with Husky. Heavier and more pliable. Love them.

Got the X-Acts today. Has a much greater rubber feel. Now to get the rebate!

This is why I don’t like Weathertechs, they’re too flimsy. My kids did this from getting in and out of my truck. That rear mat is 3 years old.
I had Weathertechs in my wife’s caddy wagon, the driver side mat was so deformed after 6 years it wasn’t safe to use. While I got my $ worth after 6 years, I don’t recommend them. 7733406D-7EC7-48D9-B655-6481C5D1DA2D.jpg

6 years at that price sounds like a tacit recommendation.

Depends on how you look at it.
I prefer to buy the highest quality product so I don’t have to mess with it again or replace it again. Some will buy the lower quality item for xyz reason and replace it multiple times.

I do not like this disposable world we live in now. Nothing last anymore.

I cut my own mats from checkerplate rubber sheet. I've got these on a Gen 1, Gen 2, and Lexus RX. I get the rubber sheet from Costco where it's offered for garage flooring, but it's available on Amazon too.

Here's the Gen 2, with the not-easy-to-find OEM grommets for the two retention toggles.

Here's the Gen 1, with a blackened brass grommet for the single retention hook. This pair of mats has been in use for twelve years or so.

And here with two metal grommets on the RX.

Here they are after cutting but before retention hook grommets were fitted.

Made a similar load floor mat for the RX, too.

So I got the Husky X-Acts and immediately went on a 2,000+ mile trip in Baja. They "performed" very well, very glad I replaced the stock carpets as they were wearing out.

One "What the Hell?" note. The grommet on the passenger mat doesn't line up. So I can only use one of them. From my eye-chrometer it looks like the inner grommet is the problem. If I lock that side in the mat scrunches up against the trans tunnel. If I lock in the outer grommet it fits much better. Just to be clear, I can only lock in one of the grommets at a time.
    Husky Floor Mat.jpg

With the outer grommet locked in this is how far off the inner grommet is. That's not going to stretch, it just doesn't fit. Since the stock mats fit with no problem I'm blaming Husky.

I'm keeping the mats, not sure if I will contact Husky, just disappointed with the "X-Act" fit.

    1/14/2023 ETA:

Can't blame Husky anymore. Was looking at my Amazon history and evidently the set I ordered are for 2016+. So I guess they fit really well for 3rd gen mats in a 2nd gen. :anonymous::rolleyes:

Just an update. I wanted the Husky X-Act Contour mats but they don’t make them in any color but black. I did not want the Weatherbeaters, but they do make them in gray. I went over this for a couple of months and finally decided to go with the gray Weatherbeaters. I think when I started looking, they were $89 at the Husky site. I decided to get them a couple of weeks ago and they were now $129 marked down to $115! WTF?? So I found them on Amazon for $66. They are stiff and squeak when getting in and getting settled down and are very stiff and difficult to install. There is nothing to attach to the floor and the holes that are there for attaching to the factory hooks don’t align with the factory hooks, but because of the shape of the mat and the carpet spikes on the bottom, this mat does not feel like will ever move on its own. No slippage while driving. They are a 100% improvement over what I had.

I wonder / suspect that the raised parts that accept the factory hooks will keep water from seeping through.

Old post, but I had Husky Weatherbeater style in my '94 when I bought it second hand at 99,000 miles. I drove that truck another 150,000 miles. PO told me that he put them in when he bought it new. The checkerboard pattern was worn, but absolutely nowhere near wearing through. I sold them to a guy who fit them into his 4runner, so those mats probably have 300,000 miles on them by now. I'm browsing this thread and want the xact fit for my '07. The other ones are very hard, stiff plastic and worked well, but I'd like a little more refinement in my "old age."

I'm looking at ordering the WeatherBeaters and the Husky site recommends #13941 for 2005 Tacoma, std cab. On Amazon, they say #13941 or #13942. Anyone know the difference between #13941 and #13942 (and please don't say the difference is "1"). I contacted Husky but haven't heard back.

Looks like 13941 is black, 13942 is grey.

    Boy, don't I feel stupid.

I thought the color difference may account for the model number difference but when I switched between black and grey on the Husky website the number stayed 13941 so I assumed it must be something else. But I just went back to the Husky website and now when I switch colors, the model number changes. Either the web page didn't load properly/completely or I'm losing my mind (most likely). Anyway, thanks for the reply.
