oh dang. i don’t think mine phone has been logged out of TW since last may when i got it. lol only time i log out on computer is traveling or when i clean it out. to make it run faster and not bog down even tho it is a macbook. (it logs me out of everything automatically)

Remember antisieze

 

not trying to start a war, but i've read that no spark plug manufacturer recommends antiseize on spark plugs, they say cause it can cause you to overtighten, but I think you'll be fine with or without it

 

i'm looking for the manufacturer link for denso, i'm not sure what composition the splugs we use are, but here's one form ngk

I have never used anti seize on my plugs and have never had any problems getting old plugs out (on cars, trucks, motorcycles...etc..)

But I have never heard of any problems using it.

If you change them at the proper intervals you dont have to worry about the plugs getting corroded and seized up.

but anyways, just thought i'd share cause some would swear by it, I had just changed my plugs when i got my truck, and did a lot of reading about it.

 

torque spec for our trucks is 15ft/lbs for the plugs, right?

 

yea it's 15, but it should be alright as long as u didn't tighten it TOO much

 

I was asking because last time I changed by plugs/wires I looked up the torque spec for shits and giggles, and used it. But it seemed super tight....like, way tighter then what I usually tighten plugs at.

 

i agree 15 is a lot tighter than i imagined, and no idea on the yellow stuff

I have never seen yellow junk on my coils or wires.

 

i can honestly say, i cant remember the last time i used anitsieze on spark plugs, nor worried about torque spec for them.

 

I do use antiseze, but no torgue

 

that the diagrams on TRS are wrong and or something. Im sure it will make more sense when I have the harness in my hands and im looking at the truck.

 

This is right out of the repair manual, even toyota doesnt specify that they want antisieze:

(g) Check the spark plug for any damage on its threads and insulator.
If there is damage, replace the spark plug. If not, reinstall the spark plug.
