ive been thinking about getting one of these baja racks... colin you got any input on this http://www.bajarack.com/toyota-tacoma

 

I like those. only thing i'm not crazy about is the low load carying capacity. but then again, 200 lbs on the roof is a lot for most people.

and if you want to mount lights on it using thier extension, have someone hold up a light or two in the position they would be in. with them sticking that far forward, it makes it more likely that you'll get a bunch of glare in the windshield. i used to get some glare with my old roof rack, so when i build the new one, i positioned the lights a good bit further back to take care of that. did the same thing when i rebuilt the old one for the guy up north. just something to look out for if you're going to put lights on it

 

cool man thanks for the input. i might just go with the rack and not the nights then get an avid offroad bar with 2 or 3 tabs on it for lights

 

just going to say i over you’r roof rack and that sick ass drift in you’r sig. i have done a little drifting in mine not much. i need to find a better place. that i wont get a ticket for.

yet asphalt or dirt roads i do. i wont try it on dry asphalt. gravel/dirt it slides easy and not much body roll. wet asphalt(not on road but in a parking lot) it is harder and it likes to slid and than you can fill it kinda wanting to bite a little not much but it dose.

 

if i do roof rack i will. idk if i need that room. i think in the fall i’m going to get a bestop for the bed. i want to keep the drag down for long road trips to WNY 12h drives. lol in august i lost allot of MPG as is. i was in like mid or high 200 on miles to a tank. around here with mixed driving and not driving like a old man i can get 365 to 375 EASY! 4.0 4wd i am stock tho.

really? i mostly want it to keep stuff dry. and because i can take it off easy my self. unlike a snugtop or something.

 

with the top down I get good mileage, but with it up the mileage goes down slightly.

(I leave mine up all the time)

 

you could always mount them to the rack without their light attachment.

nice. i have done it on stock tires. and i was going like 25 or 30. graves is easy to slide on and wet roads once you brake the rear loos.

me and my friend have one it in his FJ TT as well.
