gotta tech question for anybody that knows or is listening or suggestions, ever since i got my truck, bout 10K miles ago, sometimes, very intermittently, but pretty regularly, whenever i'm braking and then ease off the brake like i would so u don't get that headbob, then it feels like the back of my truck is pushing forward, all this time i kinda thought it was a combo of having rwd and possibly poor traction, but some other guy stated it best as

" I noticed that when I came to a stop and moved forward it would feel as if the rear end of the truck was shifting around. Like a small barrel was rolling in my truck."

and i guess it ended up that "The leaf spring clamp was broken and the springs were slapping each other!!"


any advice?

 

I'm guessing you checked the condition of your leafs?
The clamps on my stock springs were REALLY stretched out.

 

i looked under there and they looked fine? i didn't really try to tighten anything or check it if was even tight, I was just thinking that was normal until like 10 min agos

 

by clamps, would it be the ubolt? or those nonadjustable things holding them together?

 

The nonadjustable ones. There's like 4 per leaf set.
Or even where it mounts to the axle if that's loose.

Or maybe even the yoke where the driveshaft connects to the diff? No expert but maybe if it's loose, I'd cause your symptom.

I'm no expert but I would think of something came loose with your leafs, I don't think just the shock will support your axles. I would deff get under there and see if you have any play in the leaf packs or the driveshaft.

So, on the way home, the Volusia County Sheriffs were nice enough to verify my tint % for me (when they pulled me over, 2 of them at that), aparently 5% is no good. The legal is 28%, he liked the fact that i rolled all my windows down when he stopped me out of respect. He thought i had been stopped before, but i told him it was just out of respect for his safety. No ticket!!

 

Score! I always do windows down,4 ways on, vehicle off with keys on the dash, and two open hands on top of the wheel. Interior lights on at night. Last ticket I got was.... 15 years ago??? Yes sir, no sir, respect...

 

Need a hand? I know some people that know some people that kill some people.
