I've got a 4ft fiberglass antenna and a spring from radio shack. Relatively cheap, and so far its managed to survive two years on the truck. I imagine it would have been easy to break without the spring, it getting caught on brush and limbs on tighter trails will get it to move a bit but no damage yet.

It was also like under $20 or $30 for the antenna and spring IIRC.

you must have terrible luck or terrible aim. when i do mine, i tape paper about a foot up the door and call it a day. so far so good.

No, I think it may have been wind blowing into the garage. Like I said it not paint, just the little texture particles.

 

I have that little 2ft. spring mounted firestick. Last time in Ocala it took a beating but it did just fine. Barely sticks over the cab. I get good reception.

I have a 2 foot firestik on a spring mount as well, still not sure how well it works since everytime i tried using it was with greg and his F$*#ed up mic. But i do pick up other people going down the road so i am pretty sure it works good, would like to try it out this weekend @ colins house to verify though, in case i need to fix anything before citrus.

unless you guys could think of better options, the 2'' firestik on a spring was kinda my default. being that CBs are essentially line of sight, i'm trying to get at much height as possible. downside it that height keeps breaking my antennas. the flexible wilson or the 2 footer may be a good tradeoff from a durability standpoint. wish i could go with another 4'' firestik, but being on top of the bedrack would shatter it the first trail run, even with a spring.

 

dude your cb f'ed up my mic....took mine to rad com and they warrantied my mic gave me a new one works like a champ now

I've got a 4' Firestik mounted near the top of my tailgate with a spring. I have seen it bent back at like a 45 degree angle going down the Turnpike

 

Do i gotta mount up my CB for citrus? Would it be a good idea?
