bed bolt will work since the bolt threads to a nut welded to the frame. downside is you'll probably rip out the wire when you load up the bed. if you run the wire between the cab and bed, on the drivers side, just in front of the fuel filler neck, there is an existing ground on the frame.....i grounded mine there since it's already a certified toyota ground

 

for antenna cable, can we just get anything like this?

yeah, that'll work. if you are running it underneath the vehicle, i'd get one with more insulation.

also, make sure 12 feet is long enough. get the shortest one you can that will still be long enough. if you have too much cable, carefully coil it up and secure it. a kink in CB type coax will kill it.

 

cool thanks, yea now that i think about it, 12 feet is prob too short, cause i need to run it from the centerconsole, under the driver's and to the rt taillight, so i'll look for another one, thanks colin

 

yeah, going to the taillight will eat up feet of cable real quick. if you have a local electronics shop, they can make you a cable. i had one made with a stainless braided shield and double insulation.

 

Mike, you could always ask Greg to recommend a good ground location
