i personally think the kobalt boxes are of lesser quality. thinner material. and feel less sturdy to me.

i have not seen a deezee in person but can say for UWS that those damn things are solid. theres a good chance your not only getting the color you want but better quality

 

Yeah, UWS are really nice, but way out of my price range for now.

 

i'd say black would look way better, is it worth it is all up to you, you'll be looking at it everyday, if i were lookin at it everyday i'd go black

 

Is there anyway to make it black? Rattle can or plasti-dip it? Personally black would look awesome, but if its not possible, then oh well

 

I could paint it black like my last one if i end up hating the aluminum. Looking around, deezee seems to be the only one to offer one in black, but base price is at least $300 and it's not as deep nor is it slim, so this may very well be my best bet in the end. Now to talk the wifey into a siney christmas gift.

Colin, is that black still holding up? Just to get an idea cause with that one i primed it with aluminum etching primer then sprayed it black.

 

Here's one i just found via google that the guy painted it black, def thinking thats the way to go, so much better looking when it's black.

 

My buddy had one of these in his Colorado. He loved it. Left it silver, but loved it.

Now that I've got a regular cab with the longer bed, I may have to spring for a full-size toolbox. If only I had the dough.

I LOVE these narrow boxes for the short beds. They have been putting them in trucks at my shop (different brand) but they have been putting them in long beds and i dont think that looks right.

 

I just used Lowes live chat thing, pretty cool they answer within seconds, i asked if they offered it in black, they dont, but i think i shall ask the wifey for christmas.

 

I vote black.

Couldn't find it just now, but Amazon used to have the

UWS TBS-63-A-LP-BLK listed for $200 w/ free shipping. I almost pulled the trigger, but found one for $75 on CL. It was silver, but had been sprayed with bed liner. Might be an option for you if you can find one. Don't have to worry about paint chipping and it deadens some of the sound too.

 

Try talking to them in person, it's even worse. I worked there years ago when i knew very little about actually working on cars, but still knew more than some of my coworkers. It amazes me the questions people would ask from someone half their age and expect to get the right answer. Evening knowing a little, i was guessing half the time.
