He is sooo freakin excited, plus I am bringing his good friend with us this time. My plan is that having his friend will help keep him occupied. He tends to bug Elliot a little too much so with Blake there, I should be able to relax a bit more.

What's done on a 15k service? Not a big fan of the dealer up in VA and would rather do it myself.

 

Just an oil change and tire rotation, nothing major gets done anymore until 30K. We check your cabin filter and air filter, but they rarely need to be replaced that early. Plus i know you have the TRD air filter so nothing to be done there.

 

any other northern Floridians here?

 

Hey jason what is done at 75k service?

 

Prolly diff service, oil change rotate, trans service, coolant service lol

 

You can choose to still only do LOF/Rotate or upgrade to a "B" service which includes LOF, rotate, air filter, EFI service, and battery service.

 

please tell me why facepalm? I'm sorry but is toyota lifetime coolant? lifetime trans fluid?

 

100k coolant, 30-60K diff fluid. and yes, technically lifetime "sealed" trans. Only time i personally ever touch the trans fluid in one of our vehicles that runs WS trans fluid is when there is a shifting concern. Otherwise, i dont even recommend touching it.

 

How about the 2k trans oil change service?

jason. kinda on topic. how hard is the Throttle body cleaning? i think i need to do that, oil, spark plugs, and may clean the mass air flow sensor. i have been getting pretty bad MPG lately. like 200 and if i’m lucky i’ll get 270. just depends on what i’m doing more of city or highway. or towing. i was getting 330+ easy and not babying it and towing a little. best i have ever got was 380. with the old rugged fails. with the nittos i have got 360 easy.

 

You can get regular carb cleaner and a rag and clean it out. or you can completely remove it and clean and reinstall it.

 

ok. i’ll have to see when i get back from my trip. don’t think i will have time before i go.

Jason, thanks for the info. 2hrs of driving plus 2+hrs of waiting is not worth it just for an oil change (included or not).

 

Also, is the new takeoff shudder TSB worth bringing it in for? I noticed that it got worse after the SC was installed.

A trip is the time to clean the carb out,,,put in a can of carb cleaner and hit the interstate...Works everytime.. I put one in every 10 k..
