Florida B.S. Thread

now i do have one question. I have read it on many places. the florida law for open carry only allows during hunting, fishing, and camping. also to include going to and from those activities correct?

I'm sorry open carry for a rifle or handgun? The law can be somewhat gray at times. This is one of those areas. *it's probably what led people to the 3 step thing* But yeas this is true I would watch out for inside a vehicle or galavanting around bass pro. The law is somewhat clear about those incidents especially in your vehicle. It still needs to be securely encased. However, a shotgun or rifle can be "transported however you wish. Back seat, window etc...Also, you may have to defend yourself in a court of law that you were actually going to or fro those activities which may be difficult to prove..Just food for thought. I can go over it better in person than try to explain the law in text. The law is just as confusing as it is contradictive but I tested it back and forth. Don't run into to many hunting scenarios here in the hood but I can imagine it it the same for vehicles reguardless of where you are going or where you have come from..

Sorry a handgun. and i see what your saying. i have just heard of it a lot and keep thinking there has to be something else to it since florida is a no open carry state. I do open carry in georgia when i hunt and never had an issue(military in GA have super carry ) so i try and make sure i am cautious about it when i am back in florida.

When in doubt in Florida I would just cover it up. People in Florida are fickle on guns. They tend to freak a lot of our "non gun folks out" when your not in Uniform. just my observation...

Does the securely encased rule apply to CWP holders as well? I was under the impression that CWP holders could have it in their vehicle however they felt as long as it was concealed.

And I did not know we could carry our long guns in the back window

 

correct CWP can carry on you or in the seat crack anywhere its out of sight.

 

CWP has nothing to do with vehicles as i was told. When your in a vehicle it still has to be enclosed. Which kinda doesn't make sense to me. But again what i was told in the class. And Greg, the 3 step rule is what i was told in class during my Concealed WP class. So idk. Not saying your wrong but just sayin lol


to my read that was proven wrong also. if you have a cwp you can carry wherever you want unless posted otherwise.
