    Jason, hard to tell, but were your rear wheels off the ground? if so, how far.
    another little trick, is that most of the time, the rear shocks are what limit down travel. so if you have the tools, it's easy enough to pop the rear shocks right off. as long as you have long enough brake lines, you'll usually get another 2 to 4 inches of down travel, which will hopefully give you the traction you need to get out.

    edit:looked at the picture again, obviously your left rear wheel is making contact, but i can't tell for the other side.

    Yes it is especially since it's almost full:D

    Barely but I got to jack the back up and stack rocks under the rear wheels. The ground was solid so I could use the bottle jack. It just spit the rocks out though. I needed to lift the front wheels more and put more stuff under them but the hilift wasn't cooperating at that point and the bottle jack just kept sinking.

    That's a good idea with the shocks but I still have the stock brake lines and would be concerned. If I was very desperate and thought about it I may have tried it.

    There was a truck on the other side of the hill and we thought he was a hunter and would come back at any time but the truck was still there when we left. Had I known I would have just put the receiver shackle into his truck and pulled myself out but I didn't want to piss anybody off especially a potentially drunk hunter.

    yeah, good call about the hunter.


    if it comes down to and you ever need to take off the shocks with stock brake lines, best thing to do is take a tie down or ratchet strap, and go around the axle and then aroung the frame, and essentially use it as a limit strap. all you have to do is tighten it down to right before your lines get tight.

    just little tricks i've picked up along the way.


    i went wheeling with a guy in an older land rover once, who had a 1500 lb winch above each wheel, so he could lift up and drop down indevidual wheels with the flip of a switch. he said he did the shock and ratchet strap thing before he built it up with the winches

    That's interesting. I've never even heard of somebody doing that. I would like to see it. That would be great for hills to cinch down the appropriate wheels.

    I really don't think the brake lines will be a problem, I have a new leafpack and even with all the extra droop it gave me I just bent the mounting brackets on the break lines down to give me another 2 inches. At full droop with my shocks disconnected my lines are a little tight but no where near pulling out.

    i bent mine too, helps a lot! my icons are about 2.5 inches longer than the stock bilstiens, so that was nesesary. i've had mine at full drop withough shocks on, and you're right, it's a little tight, but it won't pull the line out. that's static though, i'd be worried that when you start putting power to the wheels and you get some axel wrap or hop trying to get unstuck that you could pull it a little too far.

    235x75x15 Kuhmos. SnugTop Tonneau. Blacked out some interior parts. Pioneer head unit. Ammo can mod, deck plate mod and sandbox mod from not putting my deck plate back in.
    Damn. Way to give me 10 pgs to read. HAHA. Shame on me for slacking on my forum reading.
    I finished my Snugtop install yesterday. Now thinking about a bed mat (since I had to remove my bedliner) and some LED lights to light up the bed.
    My tranny keeps slipping in 1st though and I'm not sure why. All the fluids are where they should be. I'm thinking this might be part of the reason my MPGs dropped so low, but who knows.

    yah i told my dad n at first hes like its nothin n that im just over acting...thn he road with me n hes like thats not good n he said it could be my tranny but ive always thought it was my brakes or rearend cuz it seems like it comes from the rear n its thuds when i stop and or let off the brakes
