It's not correct, but it's acceptable. LR uses a much thicker grease from the factory. it has a consistancy more like peanut butter, than the wheel bearing grease you are reffering to. i usually just use the mobil 1 stuff though.

before you rebuild them, check for play. secure the arm, and push/pull the balljoint in the direction of the bolt. if you hear or feel any movement, call up light racing/SPC. the arms you have are the old style. one of the inner components of the balljoint is made of a natural cork(i believe that's what they called it). that part can wear out and cause that play. if you have any play, you can pay a $50 core charge. they will send you brand new balljoints, with the new style internals, as well as the new style dust/grease boot on them (very nice). when you send in the old balljoints, they refund you the $50 core charge.

it's a nice customer oriented step they took, and if you detect even the smallest bit of play, i recomend it. if no play, just clean, repack, and be on your merry way :)

    Why thank you sir...

And here's more of the 2014 Tundra...crappy redesign. Looks more like an extravagant mid cycle refresh.

I like interior much better. But don't care for the grille. I like the current grille cause it goes up with the hood where this one will stay down like ours do. It going up on such a big truck makes it more comfortable to work on. Just my .02

Well, I'm far from a tree hugger, I have legally killed my fair share of wild animals.

Snakes are a hundred times more scared of you, or a dog, than you of it. If your dogs want to seek out a poisonous animal and fuck with it...well then natural selection is a bitch.

And any person who gets bit by a poisonous snake is a moron...I have been in the woods all my life...just pay attention and don't be a dumbass, and you wont get bit.

    :)

I like how in the highway pic they're driving down the middle of 2 lanes, no turn signal

or maybe that's not a stripe under the truck? idk

I prefer to think of the new Tundra saying: "Tundra don't care! Tundra will look how it wants and drive down the middle of two lanes :p"

If You dont know.. Bird dogs live by there nose.. News flash guess what smell's like game birds. A dog can run right up on a snake if the wind is wrong .As I have said I kill them all but the non poisonous, I let them go on there merry way with a have a nice day. Here is my last find, stepped over a log something slapped my leg looked down and was standing on this.. he was putting the bite on my boot. Put him in my bathtub for a week but no one wanted him so I put him in the freezer over night and he did not pass the hibernation test...[IMG] And here he is today ,,,never looked better[IMG]

they'll be sending you the new style boot regardless, which provides a much tighter seal against the top of the spindle, which is where stuff usually gets in. so as long as you don't ahve any play in the current ball joints, a cleaned and repacked joint with the new boot is pretty darn good.

also check your bushings before you put the arms on the truck. each one should be a single rubber piece, with a metal sleeve molded into it. when good, they are very stiff, and don't move much by just using your hands.

The below is a video of mine when i replaced them. the steel sleeve had completely torn away from the main part of the bushing. if you have anything even near this, replace the bushings with theit new style poly bushings.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gGF6VS1EHE&list=UUXe4AY77gNKXW9QrIeVfuyQ&index=4

this is them after i rebuilt them (new style bushings, new style ball joints and boots, new paint)
