This is True...I just hate to go to all the trouble to do all that just to make mine look like a sport. I know people are indifferent about the scoop but I just like it...not sure why, maybe the kid in me thinks it looks mean haha....but it is starting to make more sense to go with the offroad and not regret it later. I wonder why they just dont make a sport with a locker?...makes no sense to me.

I wonder if when I trade in my truck they would just let me swap the hood and bumper off my trd sport..onto the offroad since I am going for the same color anyway lol...think it would work?

 

Well, thats what makes the sport a sport...it has an LSD.

It wouldn't hurt to ask

 

the 09+ Sports have a Auto LSD, which uses the breaks to apply traction

the 05-08 have a true LSD

 

well that sucks....

so 09+ the sport package truly is worthless compared to the offroad package.

 

Basically
In 09 they also added A-trac to the offroad package

 

Simon, I got your PM. I'm crazy busy right now, but i'll try to get a reply to you tonight or tomorrow with some more pictures/videos/information. for now, both the sport and OR have ups and downs, but the sport can be very capable off road when driven properly, and equipped for the conditions.

 

It's about time you got in on this and defended the sports ...

Why not the bigger on offroad ? True offroad causes stresses and torques that highway use doesn't

Been texting a guy in sanford about used fj rims, and when I asked if he could drop the price since I was driving from satellite beach, he flipped out; took down his craigslist post and sent me 4 texts about how he was only asking the price of a single new rim...

I had a sport 4x4 long bed. After a few meets and having my gf's 5th gen 4runner out perform me I traded it in for a new offroad model. The ONLY way I would justify a sport is if you're gonna add 35's. 35's on a regeared sport diff (with arb locker) is stronger than 35's on an elocker diff.

 

They're nothing but crazies down there

 

i think that's referring to models that have the trd big brake kit as an accessory

 

But yet a certain individual can blow one of those sport diffs up. Hmmm
