    ive done this in the past...and honestly...the best upgrade you can do is a good head unit....mine sounded decent but the aftermarket radio made a world of difference...even with crossovers and amps with filters the signal from the stock head unit wasnt good enough....just changing your stock head unit and leaving everything else stock will make a big change in sound quality

    Thanks, I have always changed my HU in the 6 other vehicles I have owned, but this factory HU in the 2012 is pretty cool looking and the bluetooth blows the pants off any aftermarket HU I have ever had. But I MUST have good quality sounds so looks like it might have to go :(

    i had the entune and nav/jbl in mine...gone now...replaced with my pioneer..which bluetooth works great...

    Damn, I never even saw that post. I always used a line out converter till my most recent HU. The one I used had a level adjustment on it, it was great. With my last HU the loc produced better than the HU. I still have it if you need it.

    what pioneer do u have?...Still retained the hands free buttons on the steering wheel?

    true, so the clarity and quality wasn't bad....I like to listen to loud music and I hate distortion and the muffleness stock HU produce. I just didn't know if the same results would happen even if I put an amp on all the door speakers (replace w/ aftermarket) and with a 10in sub. But sounds like you went to an aftermarket HU now lol so I might put the money towards a new HU and not waste it on the 4 channel amp to push the door speakers then.

    I spent money on my previous HU and used the LOC, this HU I got for free from a coworker and have no need for the LOC since this one not only has the output but has a very nice sub control feature. I am running a ken wood ddx512 HU (iirc) in mine and love it. Using a ken wood amp for the subs and currently no amp for the doors(which are all kenwood) but the HU pushes them just fine (for now). Also added tweeters to the rear doors for additional sound clarity.
