Pep boys was 15 $ for the 15' roll. roll it out to were its 1/4 or 3/8 of a in. is all you need to fill the groove .. heat it when you put it back together and put the lens side down. mash it hard for a minute And put the screws back in it .. Let me know when you get ready to do them there are more small tricks.

 

I though silicone caulk was to be used?

I'm starting to contemplate BLHM.

Most of that shit will make them fog.Stuff has Bad fumes.I do not use it

 

No but they fed us these weird civilian things in Afghanistan that were expired and rotten.

I just got back from vacation

 

i didn't use a drop of extra sealant, and never had any moisture in mine. my only downfall was only letting the paint cure overnight before tossing them back in the oven and resealing. give them an entire day or two before you seal them up, and you won't even need extra sealant.

 

I used the original sealant when I did BHLM with no leaks or moisture. When I did the retrofit I threw a little bit of sealant on top of the original in places where it was getting thin. I have most of the roll from my retrofit if you want it? I'll be down in early October. And yes silicone causes moisture issues as it off gases during the curing process.

 

I appreciate the offer, but I should be done with them by then. I want to get them going when I get back from vaca so the are ready for when my bumper shows up.

 

I didn't use any extra sealant in the groove, just reused the factory stuff but I did use silicone around the outside on the seam & no fogging or leaks so far. I did mine back in July last year.
I also let my paint cure for a good day before putting the back together.
