On black Friday Digidiodes.com had a heck of a sale. IIRC I posted the image on here. Anyway, I picked up one of their 21.5" led light bars for my bumper. They were selling these for $175 with harness and free shipping.

Maybe , I put bf allterrain tires on the WT4's for daily drive if not I can put those on the other Tacoma with street tires

finally found a 102" whip from radio shack, went to 3 different stores and the 3rd one finally had only one in the back, and bought a mini CB 40 channel from them as well, now I just need to figure out where im gonna mount the antenna and what mount I need to get. Got a rough idea of how to get the CB working. Any suggestions on where to mount this thing at, I was thinkin somewhere by the tailgate and I would be able to bend it over and tie it down when im wheelin

 

With a whip like that, about the only mount that will support that sort of weight swinging around will be this type...



The rear bumper would be a good place to mount it since you won't have to worry about your sheet metal oil-canning and eventually cracking. Of course, the one I used to have I had mounted to my steel tool box (I've read that aluminum tool boxes don't produce a good enough ground for the antenna though). Where ever you decide to put it, just make sure the whip won't come into contact with any other metal because it will ground out the antenna and if you are transmitting when that happens it could fry your radio. (This is one of the reasons that ppl stick tennis balls on their whips when they are bumper mounted, in addition to keeping the antenna from damaging their paint.)

 

hmmm, ok. Would mounting it right in between the tailgate and the bedside. something similar to this?


this is the antenna mount that I got at radio shack as well, it came with the mounting stud and lock washer

 

I would mount it on the front of the bed and the middle of the truck. The full size pick up trucks near me have it mounted like that and it looks pretty good and I think it would be out of the way.
